A super Saturday, a meeting of minds, a maze of XLR cables, synths, machines, programs and possibilities. Global pioneers meet the authors of the local scene for a celebration of hardware, improvisation and electronic music in the appropriately formidable walls of Melbourne Town Hall. It’s a rare opportunity to engage with Detroit royalty behind the controls of their immense, mighty and iconic ‘Mothership’. Octave One have been ground zero for live electronic music since day dot, translating techno and house through a mass of analogue machines - always live, always inconceivable. Sleep D have been the epicentre of the local sound for north of a decade shaping the sound of the city and never following trends. For a special live show, they set up tables alongside Hybrid Man for a monster session of improvised bleeps, bloops, wubs and dubs. It’s a ding dong of the highest order, and not one to be missed. In support we have JNETT and Baby B skippering the turntables and Now or Never rolling out a colossal rig of lasers to round out what is a bloody lip smacking late night affair. It’s a bloody big one!
