On 23rd October, metic. presents emotional architecture: a signature. metic. is a Sheffield-based artist with an affinity for detail. He creates multisensory experiences, centred around kinetic light sculptures, which aim to reconnect people with nature by emulating its beauty, integrity and healing qualities. This is the debut of a brand-new installation, 2 years in the making, codenamed Ripples III: a 1.2-metre-wide kinetic sculpture (spaceship), suspended from above, draped in fabric and mirrored from below by his piece Ripples II. The sculpture has 10 concentric rings that rotate coloured glass in planetary motions that are hypnotic and calming. The space will be filled with colour and light to create an angelic, enchanting, and introspective experience destined to leave you feeling connected to something otherworldly. Pause, take a deep breath, observe, and immerse your thoughts in colour. There are 2 full-scale events with both installations in operation that involve a brief talk about his work alongside the curation of the lighting, sound (via DJ set), and scents in the space. 23rd October: 6-9 pm 25th October: 4 pm-late Sonically, he will be exploring the deeper, darker, and more introspective shades of electronic music. His musical library transcends both the natural and ethereal worlds, as well as the technological and engineered, often demonstrating harmony between the organic and the human-made. He intends to create space for observation and contemplation, both spatially and psychologically, with a core philosophy of harnessing the experience of beauty as a catalyst for positive change.
