Descripción
Introducing disko kix! Join us on Friday 4th September for a brand-spanking-new monthly disco night at Movers.
This one’s for the dancers, music lovers, vibe merchants, friends, enemies and anyone else who wants to be taken on a journey through the roots of dance music.
With a lineup curated by Alex Weston each month, serious disco aficionados will take over the Movers booth and serve up their own slice of the genre’s sound over the course of the evening.
Expect a few classics, but we’re mostly here to uncover and appreciate gems buried deep beneath the swathes of Abba records found in charity shops. (absolutely no shade towards Abba though).

Presented by:
Alex Weston
City Pop host, one half of swingdash radio sweethearts bran rot, Alex Weston is a selector and musician whose approach to DJing is driven by extreme curiosity.
After a (quite frankly) biblical experience at We Out Here festival in 2025, he’s launching disko kix with the belief that disco is more than just music: it’s history, healing, connection, love and being fucking fab on the dancefloor with your nearest and dearest.
His sets are built on the shimmer of 80s Japanese City Pop, the cold voltage of Italo synthesisers and the warmth of disco grooves, threaded together with global leftfield selections that keep you guessing along the way.
BALDJOE
I distinctly remember hearing Diana Ross’ ‘Work That Body’ and thinking I’ve got to share this music with people.
BALDJOE got his musical education while working behind the bar at Horse Meat Disco in Vauxhall, London. Today he resides as Notts’ bald disco diva, with wide-spanning selections from Philly Soul rarities to hi-NRG bombs.
You can catch him lighting up queer dancefloors across the country, or on his monthly swingdash radio show.
Disco quite literally saved his life.
HOLL3
HOLL3 is a DJ and producer whose genre-blurring sets have taken her across the UK and beyond, with recent appearances at major festivals including Wilderness and Boardmasters alongside shows in Ibiza and across Europe. Her productions have gained support on BBC Radio 1, while 2026 has seen a run of releases on labels across the UK and internationally. An avid record collector, she loves bringing her latest finds into her sets, digging through disco, house, garage and beyond to keep things fun, groovy and always a little unexpected
