On Saturday, October 24, Disfunktional celebrates five years of parties, people, energy and True House Music at Crobar. For our 5th anniversary, we welcome one of the most important figures in house music: CHEZ DAMIER A Chicago native with deep ties to Detroit’s underground scene, Chez Damier was part of the legendary Music Institute alongside Derrick May and Alton Miller. He later worked with Kevin Saunderson at KMS before co-founding Prescription Records with Ron Trent. Through his music, DJ sets and labels, Chez helped shape a sound built on soulful melodies, deep grooves, raw house rhythms and the spirit of the underground. His records - including “Can You Feel It,” “Sometimes I Feel Like,” “The Choice,” “Be My” and “The Morning Factory” - remain essential. His sets carry that same feeling: Chicago house, Detroit soul, disco and deep grooves, all guided by decades of experience and a real connection to the dancefloor. From Chicago and Detroit to Berlin, London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and beyond, Chez Damier remains one of house music’s true originals.
