There's always the guarantee of noise. The past 50-some years have seen New York's seemingly endless cultural cachet transform from secret in-group escapist knowledge to being earnestly co-opted by instagram-scrolling 20-somethings whose parents might not have even owned a copy of the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. New York is so spoiled with life, so incomprehensibly teeming with people and ideas and kineticism that idioms, genres, whole ways of life and being are synthesized with such rapidity and force and then... inevitably forgotten save for the chosen few; suddenly passé. What just a few months prior was enough to reshift tectonic plates becomes a stale flavor of the month. Trends come and go, real sometimes does not recognize real even when there's eye-to-eye contact, and what are now deemed forgotten and reclaimed histories have been someone's active life for longer than the hip tastemakers have been alive. Who else wants a bite bigger than they can chew? Who else wants to feel something real and alive? From the start, these three were there. Through the storied clubs of the New York's de-facto dance music Hall Of Fame, to the studios, record shops, and 5th-floor walkups where the ancillary action took place, Danny Krivit, Joaquin ‘Joe’ Claussell and François K. have been there. Very few can say the same. As this trio of artists have seen the tides of taste change from R&B, Rock, Disco, House, Techno, Hip Hop, and back again in all new amalgams, they’ve acted as a throughline, a connective thread conveying the sacred and the profane, the personal and the public. Both preservers of the dance culture’s history as well as active participants in its contemporary form, Body & SOUL has been a resolute fixture of authenticity and egoless abandon for decades, spreading the message both far and wide. After celebrating a proper 30th Anniversary in Brooklyn this July, Body & SOUL will finally take the up north trip to Locust Grove, where the babbling brooks and sparkling night sky will host Krivit, Claussell, & Kevorkian for the first time on September 5, 2026. While the party has stepped out of club walls plenty of times in the past, this will prove to be a Body & SOUL unlike any other, as the end-of-summer lushness of the Kaatskills provides a natural environment wholly removed from the confines of the city. Speakers’ frequencies extended over dancers’ heads to the feet of mountains, the primordial fire is stoked and burning, the air a welcome relief rather than a compressed density to escape from. Make your travel and accommodation plans accordingly - this will be a Body & SOUL not to be missed. 𝗙𝗔𝗤 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲? Locust Grove is a slice of heaven nestled in a verdant corner of the Great Northern Kaatskills, in the picturesque hamlet of Oak Hill, NY. We are not a cult and we are against labels, acronyms and stereotypes (but not stereos). All and everyone who carry and offer open hearts and minds are welcome. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲?
