Born from the essence, Black Rave Culture lifts up the torch and begins to walk forward spreading the message of Black Rave. Amal, James Bangura, & Nativesun, hailing from the District of Columbia, come together to bring you a new sound, the sound of their city. ICEY BBY is a DJ and producer from Chicago’s South Side whose sound lives at the intersection of uptempo deep house and the city’s rich Juke music legacy. Raised by musicians, she developed an ear for soulful rhythms and infectious deep cuts early on. Whether behind the decks or in the studio, Icey curates energetic, out of body experiences that celebrate movement, connection, and Black dance culture traditions. Justin Demus (justindemus) is an experimental musician and DJ whose work defies genre. Recognized as a prolific figure in electronic music locally as well as globally, they conjure dark, hypnotic sets that sparkle with ethereal glimmers of light. With a slew of acclaimed EPs (the most recent being “Rapture” on Julia Govor’s JUJUKA) and having shared the stage with the likes of Photay, NIKS, Digitalism, and many more, Justin utilizes his unique blend of dance music to move the floor and create something magical.
