10.10 RIFF INVITES: Solma

Solma draws inspiration from the hypnotic pulse of modern deep techno and the vibrant energy of UK bass music, weaving these influences into a personal psychedelic language rooted in detailed sound design. Based in Paris, the producer and co-founder of Virtual Forest Records has cultivated a distinctive style that moves fluidly across genre boundaries while maintaining a strong sense of identity. In 2025, Solma released his first two full-length albums, published on Organic Signs and Alliance Club, marking a key moment in the consolidation of his artistic path. Before that he also published two EPs respectively on Blue Night Jungle and Crescent London. He also contributed a podcast to Hypnus Records' renowned “The Memoir” series, showcasing all-original productions. His live sets are whirlwind of rapid, high-energy performances, blending DnB, halftime, and tribe, all immersed in deeply psychedelic textures and stimulating synths. Every performance is an immersive experience, crafted to captivate the audience in a state of boundless dance. His DJ sets can be seen as a natural extension of his producer’s vision, where each session becomes a space for experimentation aimed directly at the dance floor. While often associated with high-energy, fast-paced performances, Solma’s practice is multifaceted where he also explores his more deep-techno-oriented facet, focusing on hypnosis, groove and long-form narrative rather than velocity. Solma has performed in renowned festivals, clubs, and parties across Europe including Positive Education (Saint-Étienne), Refractor (Toledo), La Vallée Électrique (Montélimar), Aether (Brussels), Evolvere (Milan), Razzmatazz (Barcelona), Scarlet (Dublin), Macadam (Nantes), and Meta Zone libre (Marseille), among many others.
