Descripción
On 28 and 29 November 2026, the Ostend and Brussels based music label STROOM takes over Botanique for a two-day festival bringing together more than 45 artists from Belgium and abroad.
STROOM began in 2013 as stroom.tv, an experimental and idiosyncratic audiovisual online radio station founded by Ziggy Devriendt (DJ Nosedrip) and friends. What started as a small, open-ended platform eventually grew into a record label in 2016, one that has kept moving, shifting and expanding while staying guided by a simple curiosity: what happens when music refuses to sit neatly in a category?
Over the past ten years, STROOM has released more than 130 records, spanning ambient, folk, pop, electronic music, improvisation, contemporary composition and obscure archival discoveries. Its catalogue includes music by Pablo’s Eye, Voice Actor, Felicity J Lord, Milan W., Merope, Jan Van Den Broeke, Sofie Birch and Enno Velthuys, alongside a growing network of new voices and international collaborations.
From its beginnings in Ostend to its current base in Brussels, STROOM has developed into a distinctive presence within the international experimental music scene, less concerned with defining a genre than with following a particular way of listening.
For its tenth anniversary, Botanique becomes a meeting point for this sprawling STROOM universe. Artists from across the label’s catalogue will share the stage with more recent additions, while solo performances sit alongside unusual collaborations and projects brought together especially for the occasion.
This is not a retrospective, nor a conventional label showcase. Rather, it is a two-day gathering of the people, sounds and ideas that have shaped STROOM over the past decade, and a glimpse of where it might go next.
