Stereo Ferment is a Toronto-based artist-run label, radio show, event series, and DJ duo created by Cayden Mowbray (Oreku) and Brad Weber (Coy Haste). The project was started in 2020 as a home for their own productions and for music by friends and collaborators from Toronto and beyond. With 19 releases to date, Stereo Ferment has carved out a space for sounds that drift between folk disco, psych-funk, house, techno, and leftfield electro. Never tied down to one genre, always guided by curiosity. Their releases have picked up support from DJs and radio hosts around the world, including features on BBC Radio, PBS 106.7, Worldwide FM, Netil Radio, Soho Radio, CIUT, and Kane FM. As DJs, Coy Haste & Oreku are known for keeping things lively with playful, genre-fluid sets that lean into unexpected connections and shifts in energy. Beyond their Toronto base, they’ve brought Stereo Ferment’s sound to dancefloors in Australia, Colombia, Mexico, and across Canada, sharing bills with artists like Altin Gün, Chancha Via Circuito, Ghetto Kumbé, Dauwd, Dana Ruh, Eli Escobar, Habibi Funk, Matanza, Systema Solar, Teen Daze, and Parallelle.
