Artist run, internationally focused, and categorically inclusive, Slingshot brings together artists from all over the globe. Slingshot, the international nexus for music, electronic arts, and technology in the South, celebrates its sixth edition in Durham this October. Slingshot’s reputation to deliver the best experience in nextwave music, electronic art, and technology is unrivaled. Over the years, it hosted dozens of notables such as James Murphy, Jamie XX, Holly Herndon, and dozens of sound and visual artists from many corners of the globe. After 2016, the event paused as founder and director Kai Riedl took on a role as executive producer for Moogfest in Durham for four years, hence the festival’s move to the city.
