Founded in 2018 by the Galician artists Southear and Anxiety for Living, Salitre looks forward healing the wounds caused by the prejudices rooted in Vigo's techno stage. We consider that the only way to do it is being law-breaking in our methods, therefore, our purpose is to rub salt into the wound in order to create a tough and strong product from the first moment. This is how the name Salitre, which in Spanish means "saltpetre", emerged accompanied by the salt's symbol according to alchemy, which is a representation of the matter and the solid, portrayed by a circle divided in two parts by a line. From this basis, we deem that opposites should work together to create something much bigger and stronger, but also to go beyond all moral, sexual or race borders. This freedom of thought must support the respect to others. This way, it will provide us the great atmosphere that we can breathe in our event's dancefloor. Because what we want is to create events with the most state-of-the-art sounds and experiences prevailing nowadays in Europe, we want to stand up for art and culture with the goal of turning this project into a sociocultural movement, whose nucleus is music, followed by various subjects such as photography or video.
