Popoff Kitchen is a queer collective that began in Moscow and later relocated to Berlin. Founded by Nikita Egorov-Kirillov, it was created in response to the increasing pressure on LGBTQ+ communities and the lack of inclusive nightlife spaces in Moscow. The collective's mission is to foster freedom, inclusivity and self-expression in a safe and liberating environment. Known for its playful branding, Popoff Kitchen incorporates culinary themes: DJs are called "chefs," and lineups are styled as "menus" for "dinners" or "brunches." Beyond its music and creativity, Popoff Kitchen stands firmly for the values of freedom, respect and consent. The collective explicitly opposes homophobia, transphobia and all forms of discrimination. Popoff Kitchen has played a crucial role in challenging societal norms in Russia by introducing elements of queer nightlife that were previously rare or nonexistent. Their events provide an atmosphere where attendees can explore their identities and connect without fear of judgment. Popoff Kitchen has since grown into an international phenomenon, hosting events across Europe and Asia. It aims to foster meaningful connections with LGBTQ+ communities and underground scenes worldwide, uniting people through music, art and shared unique experiences.
