Since 2015, Nyege Nyege has championed underground music from East Africa and beyond, through its community studios in Kampala, two record labels (Hakuna Kulala and Nyege Nyege Tapes), a yearly festival on the banks of the river Nile in Uganda celebrating (Nov 20-23) a growing number of artists touring globally.
