Me Siento Extraña
Info
Me Siento Extraña (MSE) is a Barcelona-based collective creating safer spaces for FLINTA* identities (*women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, agender individuals, and other dissident identities) through music, art and community.
Founded in 2021 by Maia Jenkinson (ES) and Verushka Sirit (VE), it emerged as a response to the lack of visibility and cultural spaces for dissident voices. With a sharp curatorial vision, MSE weaves together underground club nights and cultural gatherings that celebrate radical expression and collective care.
Rooted in Barcelona’s queer scene, the collective also collaborates with festivals and cultural spaces across cities like Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid, New York, Rome, Berlin and Bilbao. Through weekly events and ongoing programming, MSE continues to build an irreplaceable space for connection and community.
MSE is home to resident DJs Meritxell de Soto, Verushka, Hello Sasy and Coolkid.2000, shaping dancefloors that honour genre-fluid sounds and joyful resistance.
Over the years, the collective has featured performances from oqbqbo (Posh Isolation), Pureblast, James K, IN2STELLAR, Surf 2 Glory, Dana Montana, Brava, Kontronatura, Maria Arnal, Hyperaktivist, Peach & Shanti Celeste, Fukcnormal, SDH and many more. It has also collaborated with like-minded collectives, festivals and platforms including Maricxs, Manifesta Biennial, Ableton, Aiaiai, AlphaTheta, We Create Space, Whole Festival (Berlin), Musa, Latineo, Magic Dyke (Berlin), Fire, Mostra de Dones, Embassat, Tropikali (Amsterdam), BAM de la Mercè, Barbi(e)turix (Paris), Safffo (Rome) and Karne Kulture (Madrid). Whether through curated club nights, panel discussions or artistic interventions, MSE remains committed to fostering unapologetic and safer spaces where music and identity meet.
