LIMINOID / the open collective / for a collective opening / Opportunities for meeting each other are becoming increasingly segregated into the spaces & times for work, and those for commercially offered recreational activities – leaving us with little scope to experiment and discover beyond the enclosed spaces of our private homes. In this context, Liminoid is instead conceived as an open collective, thriving out of a multiplicity of shared experiences, know-hows, sensitivities and imaginative new ways of being together. Liminoid is thus the “anti-work”, inasmuch as it engenders responsibilities that are mutual, and not bound by wage. Liminoid is thus also the “anti-club”, the “anti-gym”, the “anti-restaurant”, inasmuch as it does not produce culture for costumers, but fosters the active participation of all through the sharing of ideas, practices, and techniques. Liminoid particularly aims to create playful situations for sharing and socialization by bringing together different forms of cultural experimentation. From live electronic music & performance video, to fresh pasta making, to production workshops on just about everything - we welcome all ideas and support their free-form hybridization. Liminoid activities are always non-profit. As a collective, we especially seek to grow a common infrastructure that can embed the realization of our gatherings – for instance, by networking across different spaces and realities, but also by building up relationships in such a way that each can contribute their preferred way, and according to their own possibilities. Liminoid embraces friendly and open mindsets that can conscientiously build safe environments to be enjoyed by all. Everyone has responsibility! Therefore, mindfulness is essential.
