Fakedac~ aims to create opportunities and events to showcase the otherwise unseen or unheard. fakedac~ combines bleeding edge audio visual performances with DJ sets and visuals to create an accessible, danceable and fun evening for all. fakedac~ was created to promote algorithmic music and visuals as well as art as the intersection of art and technology. New creative art forms that have become feasible due to recent technological shifts and advances in software and computational ubiquity. Thanks to the "algorave" scene some have been exposed to live coding as an art form in its own right. It is possible to generate music and visuals using code and software and show these codes to the audience so that they might understand the potential of algorithmic art. What was once an opaque and invisible magic becomes a tangible set of scripts, codes or patch cables that give the audience insight into what the computer is doing. The audience and the performer experience the same creative feedback loop with the software. This is truely "live" electronic music in a way that playing pre-recorded audio (some call this DJ'ing) cannot compete with.
