zygonaut

Zygonaut is the deeper, more hypnotic alias of Berlin-based DJ and producer Shakthi Prasad. The project sits somewhere between hypnotic techno, minimal, tribal and groove - percussion-heavy music that develops slowly, with psychedelic details, rolling low-end and enough space for a set to breathe. Rather than chasing big drops, Zygonaut is more interested in tension, repetition and the small changes that gradually pull you further into the music. That approach comes partly from Shakthi’s background as a drummer. Before moving deeper into electronic music, he spent years playing drums in progressive rock and metal bands in India. He later completed a Master’s degree in Music Production, Technology and Innovation at Berklee Valencia, focusing on electronic music, production and sound design. Now based in Berlin, he has played at venues including KitKatClub, Prisma, Bulbul and Crack Bellmer, alongside appearances at independent parties and festivals. In 2026, Zygonaut played his first summer festival at Litha Gathering and has continued developing the project through longer, late-night and afterhour sets around Berlin. He is also the founder of Mindscape, a Berlin-based community and event series bringing together electronic music, visual art and immersive spaces. Zygonaut is ultimately about getting locked into a groove and staying there long enough for everything around it to start feeling a little different.
