Zulluz
Biografía
Zulluz studied traditional African music from a young age, and later, curious about ritualistic ceremonies, he soaked up Haitian, Puerto Rican and Cuban tempos to enrich his musical productions.
In 2019, he recorded his first release Omar's Odyssey on the VA label Subconscience Records.
Zulluz’s musical explorations are a dialogue between sound, visuals, and the body in motion. In a quest for authenticity, his art is realized almost exclusively with microphones. Each sound is extracted from audio recordings and constitutes a rich starting point for the creation of fresh material. He elaborates from a singular sound which both draws the mind closer to the living world and testifies to the fragile state of equilibrium and its constant mutation. Raw and honest - composed with unparalleled sensitivity.
Today, he writes original soundtracks for contemporary dance and art installations while continuing his artistic interventions within Groupe F, which produces pyrotechnic shows and open-air theatrical works.
Over the past 10 years, Zulluz has shared the stage with international artists such as Ben Klock, Laurent Garnier, Ellen Allien, Max Volume, Peter Power, Cigarra, and Urubu Marinka.
