Those who live and breathe techno know this is the good stuff. It’s a DommelVallei party and promoter and resident DJ, Ziggy “ZIX” Williams, is on the decks. The tracks are deep, and full of emotion. The crowd is joyful in their journey. It’s a night that won’t soon be forgotten. Flash forward 15 years. Ziggy is back in the studio, putting the finishing touches on his newest releases. His lighter sound is full of emotion and energy, reflecting a musical spirit that comes from having helped shape the Techno scene over the past 20 years. Ziggy’s love for dance music started at an early age, when he attended his first show and found acceptance and friendship with like-minded people whose passion for this music eclipsed all else. Shortly after, he bought his first DJ equipment using insurance money he received after totaling his car. He hasn’t owned a car since. With an ear for great tracks, an eye for local and international talent, and the platform for elevating both in his home country, the lineups for parties he promoted and played set the stage for a techno revolution that would sweep across the globe. Never satisfied with the past and always looking to the future, Ziggy’s mission continues. In 2012, he founded the Eindhoven DJ University to teach interested kids, young and old, the tricks of the trade. In 2015, he became Tour Manager for the legendary duo Octave One. In 2019, Dommelvallei remains one of the Netherlands’ preeminent techno organizations, prepared for the 14th edition of King-S and PACT Festival, its most popular festival. 2019 also brought the start of his new residency at Eindhovens biggest popstage The Effenaar with his Follow The White Rabbit concept. For Ziggy, techno is both deeply personal and universal. The desire to give back, lift up, and unify through dance music has been the driving force in his decades-long career. It is this pure passion for the music that makes him beloved by others in the industry whose heartbeats are also measured in bpm.
