Biografía

*Yves-Maurice likes electronic music most when it stops behaving exactly as intended.* *His music is built around that idea: strong structures with enough space for things to go wrong - or unexpectedly right. A track might start with a melody, a beat, a sample or simply a sound worth following. There is no fixed process, and preferably no attempt to repeat the last one.* *Behind this instinctive approach lies a broad musical foundation. Years of playing and writing music, rooted in classical piano and shaped by influences reaching from Chopin and Erroll Garner to alternative rock and electronic music, have left their mark without defining the outcome. Electronic music eventually added something essential: movement. The physical connection between sound, body and a room full of people.* *That connection becomes most visible on stage. Yves-Maurice approaches his live sets as performances rather than reproductions of finished tracks. Vocals, guitar, keys and electronic production form the framework, while improvisation leaves room for each show to develop differently. The structure remains. What happens inside it doesn’t necessarily have to.* *At a time when electronic music can be polished almost indefinitely, Yves-Maurice is increasingly interested in what cannot be perfected: the accident that changes a track, an improvisation that only happens once, or the moment when energy moves from the stage into the room and back again.* *Technology is part of the process, not an argument against it. Whatever creates an interesting sound is worth exploring. But in the end, the music has to leave the studio.*
