YOUN3S is a German-Moroccan DJ and producer, based in Berlin. Socialized in a musically rich environment, he has been playing music in various forms for as long as he can remember. The passion for dancing and electronic music eventually led him behind the decks. YOUN3S' mixes are a very open interpretation of club culture, in the spirit of a North African understanding of rhythm. They are a dynamic blend of bass-oriented genres with occasional 4/4 infusions, characterized by a percussive and polyrhythmic foundation, often including SWANA sounds and harmonics, and a daringly experimental, forward-looking spirit. He draws inspiration from artists who mix Western electronic music with SWANA sounds and rhythms, such as Toumba, Bluetoof, NVST, and Toma Kami. The values that YOUN3S brings are decolonial. Aiming to create more representation he digs deep into the scenes of North Africa. In December 2023, YOUN3S released his first track, 'Xattaf', in a collaborative compilation by Orange Cliff Records (Indonesia), L-KW (Germany), Seminal Records (Brazil), and Stock Records (Australia). He played support for Saliah. Beyond electronic music, he hosts a regular sonic educational radio show at Refuge Worldwide.
