Yess

Yess is a producer and DJ based in Kyoto, Japan, working at the intersection of UK garage, 2-step, dubstep, grime and the wider UK bass continuum. Built around heavy synth bass, chopped vocals and a sense of catharsis, his sound follows a single guiding principle: "music to rage and sob to." Originally the guitarist and vocalist of a punk band, Yess began producing electronic music in 2019 and picked up DJing in 2025, with production remaining the core of his practice. He was invited to remix for 64controll's EP "BUNBUN CHOPPER", released via TREKKIE TRAX, one of Japan's leading dance music labels, with the track appearing as "Work (Yess Remix)". His productions have also received support in Boiler Room sets, and he has produced commissioned remixes for a number of established hip-hop artists, broadening his reach across scenes. He is a co-founder of "ASTROPHOBIA", a Kyoto-based DJ and producer collective that runs its own ongoing party series in the city. Yess has also performed at Red Bull-presented events. --- 京都を拠点に活動するプロデューサー／DJ。UKガレージ、2-step、ダブステップ、グライム、そしてUKベース全般を横断する音楽性を持ち、重厚なシンセベースとチョップドボーカル、そしてカタルシスを軸に据えたサウンドを展開する。"Music to rage and sob to" を一貫したテーマに掲げている。 元々はパンクバンドのギターボーカルとして活動。2019年にエレクトロニックミュージックの制作を開始し、2025年からはDJとしての活動も本格化させたが、現在も楽曲制作を活動の中心に据えている。日本ダンスミュージックの登竜門として知られるTREKKIE TRAXから、64controllのEP「BUNBUN CHOPPER」にRemixerとして招かれ、「Work (Yess Remix)」を発表。自身の楽曲はBoiler Roomのセットでもプレイされており、複数のHipHopアーティストから依頼を受けてRemixを手掛けるなど、シーンをまたいで活動の幅を広げている。 京都を拠点とするDJ／プロデューサー・コレクティブ"ASTROPHOBIA"の共同主宰として、自主企画パーティを継続的に開催。Red Bull主催イベントへの出演経験も持つ。
