YAMAREN

YAMAREN is a Tokyo-based DJ dedicated to building communities through music, art, and shared experience.   In 2022, he co-founded OBI-, a brand and collective born out of an appreciation for cultural exchange and curiosity. OBI- transforms these values into tangible experiences, producing fashion and immersive events with the mission to represent global diversity and foster a tightly knit community where creativity and identity can thrive.   From this vision emerged OBI- Sounds, a party series that has hosted three parties at SALOON in Tokyo. These events have welcomed international talents such as UK’s SHAMSTEELE, bringing Amapiano and Gqom to Tokyo, SAMUEL and DENIM from Australia, and local artists, weaving together diverse sounds and cultures in one room.   Alongside OBI-, YAMAREN appears at CIRCUS Tokyo, performing with collectives/parties such as ENSITE, a techno collective featuring DJ Shufflemaster and Room Trax, and CLAP, a house-focused party curated by the FULLHOUSE crew—including SAMO, KENGOTAKI, and r1ku— bringing a Japanese house legend Soichi Terada.   Beyond live performances, YAMAREN is a host and team member of Room 303 Radio, where he introduces local artists who share his dedication to cultural diversity and Tokyo’s dance scene. His radio presence extends his philosophy: using music as a bridge for connection, curiosity, and cultural exchange.
