Xoce
Biografía
Growing up in France – to be more precise Paris – has enduringly influenced Jose Zamora’s (Xoce) relationship to music and the party scene that lead into an all-encompassing passion for music. Different to Mexico where he was born, European culture allows teenagers to enjoy nightlife at an earlier stage than in his home country. Certain surroundings and the open-minded settings inspired Xoce to step behind the decks at the young age of 15. The take he has on electronic music, and especially techno, is rather anthropologist; Jose wants to unite and connect people in a space where the ego is left behind and the dancefloor becomes unity.
His passion and dedication has led him to share the booth with some of the most ground-beaking contemporary electronic music artist such as DVS1, Juan Atkins, DJ stingray, Eduardo de la Calle, Seatoc Mass, Adriana López, Lucy, ø[phase], Talismann , Julia Govor and more. Therefore, his style ventures from clear rhythms, minimal elements to “alarming” meldings, as Jose describes his sets himself. As Dj, co-founder of the Boston-based techno collective Infra, and head of the record label Aerodynamics in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Jose Zamora has established himself over the years both behind the scenes and behind the turntables.
