Worm Soundsystem
Biografía
Nine years deep into the game the worms continue to grow and diversify.
Worm Disco Club started as a small Sunday social at an Easton pub in late summer 2014... just an excuse to gather friends and play the records they wanna play... since then it has taken on a life of it's own.
Over the last nine years they have organised hundreds of events in Bristol and have grown into one of the most active, and musically diverse presenters of global, jazz, afro and organic global sounds within the UK.
With one foot rooted in both club and soundsystem culture, and one planted outside the UK holding onto a global outlook that respects rhythm, traditions, incredible musicianship, percussion, dance, and regional grooves as well as the 'diggers' DJ culture.
All of the worms have broad record collections with each of them having been buying and playing records for 17+ years now.
Typically during a 'Worm Soundsystem' set you can catch two or three of the worms playing across a length of hours, scenes, continents decades and sounds. Joining the dots!
Digi selections are present sure, but the worms take largely a vinyl focused approach to DJing, with from sounds from across the spectrum - African and Brazilian music, dancefloor-Jazz, heavy Funk and valley deep grooves, percussive shakers, psychedelic melters, quirky Italian sounds, Disco, Boogie, breezy Caribbean sounds, Funana from Cape Verde, Calypso, Dancehall, Salsa, the mantra: 'From Jazz to Jungle' ...
The worms are fun loving, music people!
Get in touch to have them lay down their funky, rare, quirky and global party selections at your event, club or festival.
