Wizer
Biografía
Mexico City vibrates in a very particular way. It is and has always been a city impregnated by a profoundly heterogeneous visual and sound identity. Perhaps because of its popular culture, its social practices or its out-of-the-ordinary aesthetics. It’s in this playground that Uriel Gómez (1982), aka Wizer, has growing up. He adopted his nickname after being involved into the world of graffiti in the early 90s.
Wizer is a multidisciplinary artist that has the concern of continue exploring new paths in the contemporary and experimental music. A long journey has allowed him to develop his love for music and his musical ear. The experiences have been numerous and generous: Sale of cd's and vinyl. Musical curatorial work. Djing. Production of new artists in Mexico and abroad. Booking in clubs and bars in the city. Content creation. Design and animation. Film and post production. Through all of them, he has been able to foster an extensive network of artistic valorization and meetings (Ruter.ltd), as well as curatorial proposals and interventions in public space (elrecreo.fm). More than a passion, music for Wizer is what allows people to connect with each other and transcend their differences.
His inner musical world is composed of jazzy house, funk disco, lo-fi beats, deep house, broken beats, and even more intense sounds like garage, techno and drum & bass. Everything is mixed under his energy and his original style.
