Detroit native Will Simpson, known as DJ Omega, has been a pivotal figure in the city's electronic music scene since 1996, pioneering the "Ghetto Tech" genre. Introduced to music at a young age, he honed his skills under mentors like Rick Wade and Mike Huckaby, securing his first residency at Harpo's at just 17. His distinctive DJ style, blending live improv rap vocals with electro, techno, and house , catching the attention of local media and radio personalities led to his debut EP "Shake Dat Thang," executive produced under the guidance of Shawn P. Williams and released on Juan Atkins' Interface Records. Over the years, Will has collaborated with Detroit's top DJs and producers, imprinting his gritty sound on numerous releases and maintaining a creative output through his label "Native Drum."
