Newcastle born Jacob W Marshall aka Weston has been obsessed with music from a young age. His sets can range from high energy rapture, techno and much more earthly wonders. Weston is enlightened by euphoria intertwined with tribal origins along with balearic sounds. Growing up Weston’s childhood has been altogether inspirational being at the core of a music venue/club called Cobalt Studios located in Newcastle within the Ouseburn. The family run venue has enabled Weston to be surrounded by many influential and talented artists for the duration of his life contributing to his overall style and outlook. Recently Weston has recently started his own collective called Shy Bairns ‘’It is a strong community of young people, primarily based around music, fashion and the arts. We throw parties, take photos, DJ, and just have fun along the way. Shy Bairns was originally set up to document youth culture throughout the pandemic as a lockdown project. We attended many illegal raves and house parties capturing it all on film. The name Shy Bairns comes from the Geordie phase “Shy Bairns Get Nowt” Currently we are throwing parties in different locations across Newcastle trying to use alternative spaces showcasing local talent from the North East. 💛’’
