Wataru Wanlak is a DJ and track maker based in Thailand, with activities primarily focused in Southeast Asia. Starting from 2023, he will be relocating his base to his hometown, Tokyo. Coming from a musical family, music has become an integral part of his life. With over 10 years of experience as a guitarist, bassist, and drummer in band activities, he has gathered a wide range of musical experiences. Driven by his curiosity to explore the depth of music, his encounter with progressive rock on the fringes led him into the world of electronic music. He became deeply immersed in electronic music, taking inspiration from masters such as Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream, and developed a fascination for techno music by artists like Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann. Starting his career as a vinyl techno-house DJ based in Tokyo, he spent approximately 6 years living in Thailand until 2023. During his time in Thailand, he gained extensive DJ experience, performing as a semi-professional DJ at various nightclubs, DJ bars, and events such as corporate anniversary parties, restaurant opening parties, and fashion runways, mainly in Bangkok. Through his own organized party "INSTINCT," he has brought together cutting-edge Thai artists like Beam Wong and local techno DJ Sweed, creating a crossroads between four-to-the-floor dance music scenes like techno-house and experimental avant-garde music scenes, shaping a musical intersection. His music creates new grooves, transforming dance floors and spaces like magic, making it one of the most remarkable events in the scene.
