Vv Pete
Biografía
Without exaggeration - Vv Pete is the future.
With her unique fusion of sharp rap hooks, heavy club beats and global dance music, Vv is forging a genre-bending flavour of Aus-based rap that is hers alone.
The Mount Druitt based, Sudanese-Australian rapper/singer has made waves with her singles Bussit, Frauds, & Jordan1s solidifying themselves as instant classics in local club music and drill whilst carrying internationally via playlisting and radio. After the release of her first single ‘Bussit’ in 2022 Vv has consistently stepped up each phase of her career winning Acclaim All-Stars 2023, and several FBi Radio Sydney Music Art and Culture Awards including ‘Next Big Thing’, ‘Best Live Act’ and ‘Song Of The Year’ for Jordan1s with regular collaborator & producer UTILITY.
Her one-of-a-kind energy, rapidfire wit, globe-trotting sonic influences and boss-level delivery has started to reach audiences locally and internationally via Spotify playlisting and features on FBi Radio, Triple J and Ebro In The Morning on Hot 97 (US), Footlocker’s Summer Jam Campaign and a sync on the global hit Netflix series Heartbreak High. Her music has also featured regularly on NTS Radio (London), RinseFM (France) & Cashmere Radio (Berlin).
Her Frauds remix EP Frauds [Reworked] (Trackwork, 2023) featured remixes from a diverse selection of club music heavy hitters including Strict Face, DJ Plead & Mall Grab, a dominating force in dance music globally, with the track landing in Spotify playlists like New Music Friday Dance, & Portal whilst charting on iTunes (Germany) & Shazam AU. In just under 3 years of releasing music Vv has already hyped crowds supporting Jay1 (UK) and Denzel Curry (US) on their national tours, took over The Opera House with Mount Druitt’s Street University, Heaps Gay, Phoenix Central Park and played Listen Out 2024 across all four cities, sharing the stage with Ice Spice & Coi Leray.
During his time in Australia performing for Trackwork’s Vivid Sydney show ‘CLUB SERVICE’ Vv met and worked with LA-based Dominican ‘dystopic reggaeton’ producer Kelman Duran known for his production work on Beyonce’s Renaissance, subsequently releasing Bacardi Papi alongside UTILITY, with more songs on the way broadening reach into the US & UK.
Other incoming collaborations include working with prominent Berlin-based club music producers Logic1000 (featuring on her upcoming debut album), Irish duo Obskür, and Durban-based Gqom pioneers Formation Boyz.
