Music and performance have always been innate pursuits for Vonne, as their earliest memories include performing in church musicals, dubbing cassette mixtapes from Houston radio stations, and emulating every last one of their favorite vocalists, from Bob Marley to Darwin Deez to Beach House’s Victoria Legrand. While transitioning from Texas public school to a U.S. Department of Defense school in Bahrain, Vonne released their self-produced and recorded debut EP ‘Foreign Affairs’ in 2015, which still holds up today as early reflections on intimacy and experiences with recreational drug use through a robust pop landscape. Through their most recent musical efforts, Vonne is rooting themself in sounds across the jazz spectrum while still incorporating pop composition. Their daring approach when DJing leads them into uncharted territories of the chaotic, the obscure, and the unexpected—always guided by harmony and sub-bass. Vonne DJ’d at the 2022 Austin F1 races at Circuit of the Americas and later went on to open for DJ Manny in November 2023. Vonne's musical prowess also extends to film scoring, evident in their work for Fatima Wardy's "Hair Care," which received the Special Jury award in the Texas Shorts Block at SXSW 2024 Film Festival.
