It all started back when I was about 10yrs old, I used to wake up about 8 O’clock in the morning to my dad playing his music downstairs on the stereo as loud as he possibly could. Then when we got in the car it was the same, but this wasn’t like the old music everyone else’s parents listened to this was oldskool house e.g. Robin S Show me love, Technotronic Pump up the jam etc. So as you can imagine I was hooked from day 1. Then one day my dad took me to his friends house and I saw 3 Technics 1210’s just sitting there, I didn’t have a clue what you did with them I just knew that’s where my dad got all his tapes from. So I started asking questions and he explained to me he was a DJ and what a DJ did, from that day I knew what I wanted to be. 14th Birthday comes along what do I see my first pair of decks, Sound lab dlp3’s not the best but something to learn on. obviously I didn’t have a clue what to do I just used to flick it across from one track to another until one day after about a year my friend Anton showed me what beat matching was, then I was off. By the time I was 15 I’d already mixed in front of the whole school and at friend’s parties. When I left school I went to DJ College with DJ Stevie Maher Heaven & Hell Resident at the time. I was there for 2yrs, in the 2yrs he help me a lot he showed me how to promote myself, how to programme and jump from one style to the next using crossover tracks. He also got me my first gigs; I played at Cahoots and Boomerang for about 6 months learning how to keep a crowd and how to use a mic. In the last year of college there was a competition, the student to finish top of the class DJ’s at Heaven & Hell Easter all Nighter. That was it I just kept practicing doing the weekly homework tape and the end of the year came. I got it, I was so chuffed it was unbelievable my first time in a nightclub and im mixing, my nerves were going from the minute I found out to the minute I finished, but it was the best experience I’ve ever felt. That’s why after that I wasn’t stopping so I managed to get more nights at insomnia, bar b, the residence, the sanctuary, Cruz bar and the cube over the years. Then I got my first Residency at Club Ampersand once a month playing house and electro. While I was at Ampersand I thought why stop there so I was looking on the internet for DJ jobs, I found someone in London sent my demo off and next month I was a DJ at there event. This was a big event for me my first gig out of my home town in the capital of England. Then a couple of weeks later got a call back the want me to play again so I did. Then they told me they want me to be a love story resident, so obviously I said yes. Thanks to Love story I’ve played at great venues such as The Medicine Bar and The Whitehouse. I’ve also travelled up to Scotland recently to spread the love I played at The City Café Bar, The Street Bar, Cabaret Voltaire and Club Ego. So far I’ve done England and Scotland I would really like to go abroad.
