Verasacra (Emily Marks) is a producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist from Sheffield. A classically trained cellist, her songs elegantly strike a balance between modern, deconstructed dance and neoclassical influences. After attracting support from BBC Introducing in Sheffield for her acoustic-based songs, Emily decided to embark on a new musical turn as Verasacra after dreaming up the name one day in Vienna inspired by an art magazine there. Verasacra was chosen as a Launchpad supported artist in 2021-22, receiving funding and mentoring towards releasing an EP. Emily is currently working on an ethereal alt-pop EP interspersed with ambient and electro-inspired sounds.
