Biografía

Jorge Camacho is a Cuban-American sound artist, engineer and performer, raised in Venezuela and Mexico and currently based between Berlin and Auckland. He's affiliated with Index:records, Opal Tapes, Saplings and C-. He was Artist in residence at Funkhaus’ MONOM composing spatial recordings for the 4D Sound system, and completed a residency at the Waveform Research Center in Rotterdam focusing on his own development of ‘microrhythmics’. Fis’ Saplings Records, released Lock Phase Variations, donating proceeds to the Eden Reforestation Projects. The release featured his explorations of microrhythmics discovered using test equipment at the WRC. Opal Tapes and Index Records followed up with Amos' Flat, an LP released in 3 parts across vinyl, tape and digital. In 2019 he collaborated with performance artist and Radiant Love co-founder Amelia Emma Forrest for MOTHER TRILOGY, performed at De School, Amsterdam. APPX, an INDEX:records zero-waste sublabel, released further explorations from his test equipment catalog.
