Born and raised in London, Ubax grew up surrounded by the sounds of Jungle, Drum and Bass, UK garage, and Grime. But it wasn’t until she moved to Berlin that a mixture of nostalgia and longing to hear more bass music motivated her to get behind the decks. A recent graduate from the fourth round of the Femme Bass Mafia mentorship programme. Ubax is inspired by the sounds of South Africa, Brazil, Jersey and of course the UK. These diverse sonic influences manifest in her sets which build a bridge between old skool tunes and new sounds.
