Originally it started from music project called Harmonic Distortion in the late 05, but latter split up because different carrier pursuing, well I didn't intended to make a career from making music, but it was one the things that I was passionate about, the other thing was design & skateboarding. That was the thing I made a living from. But music always kept me alive, and from time to time I always try to find some time in the middle of my work deadlines to make music. In in early 05/06 i played as Digital Ivy playing IDM, trip hop ,influenced by sounds like massive attack, telefon tel aviv and other chilled out music. While producing tunes over the years by accident I fell into drum & bass. It was a joke kinda when my girlfriend asked me to make a dnb tune,and so I tried and tried until now. And like a young child i was curious to find more about it. The more I dug the more I found out, It was also so fun how so many sub genre's from dnb are, like liquid,funk,darkstep?minimal,jump up, I don't even know how to name them one by one, but I just enjoy making them.and it made me fell in love with the music, people, hype of the party's and the people behind the scene. Phunktion was the first dnb gig I ever went to in Jakarta, it was like a new universe for me. And at one point I gathered up my tunes ad gave Dj Jerome (javabass) my demo.(At that point I didn't realize how shity my demo was), but I gave it anyway. I didn't expected a warm feedback from them (after a few weeks thou). But it kinda made me exited and wanna learn more about dnb. And kept me learning and digging thru the archive and stumbled upon oldskool jungle, uk funky, garage, breakbeat etc. The blur between genre's is what makes Digital Ivy unique, besides that...you will hear lots of reverbee sounds combining with analog and digital sounds to create a whole atmosphere.
