Tropikos

Tropikos is a DJ and producer duo from Guadalajara, formed by José Luis Abundiz (a.k.a ABU) and Oswaldo Silva (a.k.a Walldroo). They have established themselves as one of the most versatile and energetic emerging acts within the local electronic music scene. Their project primarily explores house and tech house, while also incorporating elements of deep, tribal, and funk house. The result is a groove-driven sonic journey full of rhythm and energy, naturally connecting with the dancefloor. In their short trajectory, Tropikos has performed at key venues in Guadalajara such as Casa Cobra, Los Gallos Garden, Tito Club, El Rey Mezcalería, Fauno Club, PIMP, Deep Club, Nova, among others. They have also expanded their presence to other cities, with performances at Radio Escondido in Mexico City, Frester Room in Tepatitlán, and Le Music in La Piedad. Additionally, they have collaborated with projects like Bip Bip Radio and performed at events such as Rico Atardecer, an iconic party within the scene. Their versatility has also led them to perform in alternative spaces like Sofy Boom, while maintaining their identity and strong stage presence. They are the founders of Tölm Records, a house-focused label dedicated to supporting emerging talent and promoting a sound culture rooted in authenticity and groove. They are also residents of the Fire On Decks collective, maintaining a solid presence within the local electronic scene. With steady growth and an increasingly defined sound, Tropikos stands as a project that represents the evolution of house music in Guadalajara and the emerging Mexican scene, keeping the essence of the genre alive through a fresh, energetic, and deeply dancefloor-oriented proposal.
