It's a fairly well known fact that Tristan has won many awards over the years, in the most part for outstanding customer service, but he also has a Duke Of Edinburgh award and a "Jim Fixed It For Me" medal. In the early 90s, Tristan discovered that if he could somehow get inside a DJ booth, he could still enjoy all the fruits of the rave, but not have to deal with the "general public", something he positively detests. Unfortunately after only a few weeks, promoters started to realise what he was up to and they forced him to start buying records and actually try and play them. At that time most of it was any old crap he could find in a charity shop. Listening to some early recordings we can confirm that this almost certainly appears to be true. Fortunately though, the early days of the scene were far more tolerant when it came to things such as "style" and "talent". At some point Tristan was discovered by celebrity DJ/Pop Star Al Mackenzie, scared, lost and hiding under a wheely bin (one of those big ones like you see at the back of Tescos). Al thought Tris looked like he could do with a good wash and took him back to his place in Birmingham. He fed him, nursed him back to health and taught him how to actually play records properly. This generosity and kindness was repaid, by Tristan stealing a pair of Al's socks and then selling them on eBay as "pop memorabilia". Somehow, despite this, they remain close friends to this day and can often be seen together in the wild. Tristan is still disappointing dance floors, mostly in the Leeds area.
