Translucent

A full ride Jazz scholarship, brought Translucent to Chicago, where he soon after began Djing, and producing with two turntables, an MPC 2000, and a Martin Committee trumpet. His talent landed him in the studio with pioneering producers Derrick Carter, Glenn Underground, and Paul Johnson, which intern, set him on a course spinning world wide. Staying true to form, his floor moving DJ sets, are never planned out and often infused with improvised trumpet, creating a unique juxtaposition in an original space. Like his Dj sets, his approach to music production, playing the trumpet, and practice sessions all have the same goal he says, "I try and stay fully aware of the moment, while getting completely lost in the feeling". Translucent's unique stylings can be heard on Kompakt, Nervous, and Petfood records. He's featured on Ultra Majic and has played trumpet on Classic, Hot Creations, and Guidance recordings. His music has been played by Ame, Dixon, Pete Tong, Sven Vath, Laurient Garnier, Danny Daze, Brodinski, and many others.
