Biografía
Edgar Medina is an electronic musician/producer based in Leon, Mexico. Edgar is the creator behind several leftfield electronic music projects (Alejandro Morse, Silverstone, The Rigor Mortis Experience, Billie Manilli, Transistor); his works have been published through independent record labels from USA, Mexico, Germany, England, Netherlands, Italy and Spain since 2003.
Transistor is a project fueled by the microsound & digital-error aesthetics and the glitch school applied to techno patterns, his tracks and live sets range from microscopic electronics to IDMish/Experimental dancefloor music under an intimate, warm, hypnotic and reduced approach. Alejandro Morse swarms the grasslands of the ‘modern-classical/synthetic/atmospheric’ electronic music, materialized by the intersection of processed field recordings, guitar and digital synthesis arrangements, minimalistic-noise procedures and sustained sounds as drone explorations.
Edgar Medina is a founding artist and collaborator for Umor Rex, he publishes his full albums as Alejandro Morse under the Umor Rex imprint: Landscape Memories (2006), Obelisks (2007), Liminal (2018), 444 (2019), Stonewall (2021). Medina works in the sound output vertex of the label, mastering a wide selection of Umor Rex's catalog releases.
Medina under his Transistor moniker was a founding artist and collaborator for Abolipop Records, an independet record label and artist collective that helped establish experimental music in Mexico during the first decade of the new millennium.
Medina currently runs his own label and curates the concert series: Transvection Ltd. Lately he delivered music under Dragon’s Eye, Static Discos, Sleep FUSE and Pantamuzik imprints also.
He has shared stage with Akufen, Isolee, Mikael Stavostrand, Luomo, Deadbeat, Jan Jelinek, Superpitcher, Andreas Tilliander, Argenis Brito, Pier Bucci, Portable, Sutekh, Modeselektor, Pansonic, Gustavo Lamas, Leandro Fresco, Fax, Murcof, among others; he has performed live in Mexico, USA, Colombia, Germany, France, England, Spain, Switzerland... in venues and festivals such as Mutek, FIAC, Transitio, Cumbre Tajín, Les Siestes Électroniques, Texturas, Gaitan Electronic Festival, Badeschiff, Arena Berlin, Cervantino Festival, among others.

Edgar Medina, músico digital originario de León, Guanajuato, México, es el creador de varios proyectos de música electronica alternativa tales como: Alejandro Morse (ambient/drone), Silverstone (indietronica), The Rigor Mortis Experience (industrial/noise/rock) y Transistor (techno). Su obra ha sido publicada en varios sellos discográficos independientes en México, Estados Unidos, Alemania, Inglaterra, Holanda, España e Italia desde el año 2003.
Transistor, es un proyecto que se alimenta de la escuela del glitch y el error digital aplicados a patrones de techno, los tracks y sets en vivo van de la microscopía electrónica al dancefloor experimental de estética hipnótica, reducida e intimista.
Transistor es uno de los proyectos fundadores del sello basado en Guadalajara de electrónica experimental: Abolipop, el cual ayudó a establecer en México la difusión de la música electronica alternativa generando eventos y producciones discográficas en diferentes formatos. Es también colaborador y artista del sello de música alternativa Umor Rex desde sus albores. Dirige su propia discográfica y se encarga de la curaduría del ciclo de conciertos denominados: Transvection Ltd.
En vivo ha compartido escenario con artistas como: Akufen, Isolee, Mikael Stavostrand, Luomo, Jan Jelinek, Superpitcher, Deadbeat, Andreas Tilliander, Portable, Sutekh, Argenis Brito, Pier Bucci, Gustavo Lamas, Leandro Fresco, Modeselektor, Pansonic, Fax, Murcof, entre otros; ha tocado en festivales y eventos de México, Estados Unidos, Colombia, Alemania, Francia, España y Suiza como: Mutek, FIAC, Cumbre Tajín, Interface, Transitio, Texturas, Encuentro Electrónico del Gaitán, Arena Berlin, Badeschiff, Berghain, Panorama Bar, Festival Cervantino, entre otros.
