Tony Smooth began his DJ career in 1999. Growing up in Baltimore (USA), Tony got the first taste of Electronic Dance Music by listening to Hard House DJ's like Bad Boy Bill and Richard Vision. In 1998 he visited an after hours nightclub that played strictly Acid House and Tribal House. From that point on he was hooked and discovered his passion for music. Tony has been a part of the Worldwide Electronic Music Dance scene for over a decade, having played at events in cities like Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, Cleveland, Chicago, Boston, Miami, Richmond, San Francisco and Los Angeles, while also traveling abroad with shows in Israel, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Tony has also been invited to share his unique sound at festivals like The Manifestival (Southern California) and the Winter Music Conference where he has performed since 2007. Over the last 4 years Tony has been involved with many dance music radio shows like KXLU 88.9FM Los Angeles, Bloradio, Radio 7 (Sweden) and others. His weekly show The Different Shades of Smooth was broadcasted on the now defunct Bloradio for over a year. In late 2007 Tony got the music production itch and has been remixing, producing, and editing ever since. He is currently signed to TribeTronix Records and On Work Recordings. After many years of unreleased edits, bootlegs and remixes, his first original production with partner Patrick Khach was released in 2012 on all major online music store websites. Tony has shared the stage with international heavy hitters like Saeed Younan, Judge Jules, Adam Beyer, Sander Kleinenberg, Max Graham, John Digweed, Sasha, Christopher Lawrence, Yahel, Bobina, Danny Howells, Charles Feelgood, Scumfrog, Offer Nissim, Matt Darey, Matthew Dekay, Victor Calderone, Sultan and Ned Shepard, DJ Feel, Mord Fustang and others. He has played and continues to do so in some of the biggest venues in the States and internationally, including Playhouse (L.A), Avalon (L.A), Fur (D.C), Lima (D.C), Mosaic (Baltimore), Vanguard (L.A), The Cellar (San Francisco), Boiler Room (Boston), Soundbar (Chicago), Smilanski (Israel), Star 55 (New York), OPM (New York), Roxy (Philadelphia), Club Brava (Puerto Rico), Ultra Lounge (Mexico) and many more venues around the world. While being known for his Tech House/Tribal sound, Tony has made a transition into Deep House and Indie Dance which has made him appeal to a larger audience. His sound has continuously evolved during his career, but it has always stayed true to his House music roots. The future looks bright for Tony Smooth: he continues to rock the dance floors the world over and his name will be synonymous with house music for years to come.
