Tommy Lexxus
Biografía
Engulfing himself in the underground music scene since the early 90's, Tommy Lexxus is no slouch when it comes to production and performance. Two labels, and an ongoing release and gig schedule, he's a busy busy bwoy. From the heyday of Math Rock, Post Metal, and Third Wave Ska, to the prologues of Drum & Bass & Dubstep, he has always kept his record crates very diverse, and full of bass weight. Tommy's mixing skills are always innovative, amusing while sophisticated, physical yet cerebral, and dexterously entertaining.
Bassism was originally founded by Tommy Lexxus in 2005 as a warehouse rave in San Francisco. Fast forward 18 years, and we find the Bassism crew stationed comfortably in Berlin with label nights at the respected Gretchen & YAAM clubs. Current residents include Arøund The Way, DJ Quien, Grzly Adams, Hawt Coco, Jimi Handtrix, K2, R.S.S, Tommy Lexxus, VILIFY & MC Do. Dates to look out for…

One of our goals at Bassism is to help make the world feel a little closer, bridging the gap between DJs + producers in far off lands. We brought out some of our favorite international artists to mix with Germany’s cream of the crop - such as Bachelors of Science, Bandulera, Baptiste, Beep, Biome, Blazin, BOC, BOGL, Bukez Finezt, Catitah, Chimpo, Cyantific, Dave Owen, Desires, Dirty Plates, Dub Isotope, Dubelgänger, Dubsworth, Egoless, Flowdan, General Levy, GEST, Gumilap, Heavy Traffic, Joe Nice, Khiva, Mad Zach, Magenta, Mathematics, Meta, Mentha, Munk, N-Type, Orson, qnp, Qzen, PRTCL, Punani, Ras Lion, Ripley, Saiman, Samadee, Sammy B, Sepia, Shu, Skratch, Skulder & Mully, Slin, Squarewave, Stylust Beats, Submission, Sukh Knight, Survey, T-Man, Tom Battery, TreyZilla, Truth, Tschul, Unicorn Fukr, Upzet, Uta, Von D, Weaponized, Ziaflow, 2krazy & 65 Shapeshifters … to name just a few.
Flashback to 2008, Bassism started by putting out early classics from the beginning of the Dubstep era. San Francisco being a hub for Bass Music in general, Bassism had prime real estate to pick from the best upcoming artists in the Bay Area. Vinyl production was being handled by Cargo UK before they disbanded, and then Triple Vision took over distribution in the Netherlands. Bassism went on to anchor in serious acts such as Roommate, Antiserum, SPL, The Bassist, FSTZ & UFO!
When Dubstep took off, so did Bassism's release success on top of Tommy's touring calendar. Having rocked almost every US + European capital, plus tons of party-ready cities in between, Mr. Lexxus has also been blessed with appearances in Cancun, Dubai, Bahrain, Shanghai, Melbourne, and most recently in Koh Tao, Thailand.
From the beaches of California to the subways of New York, Tommy brought Bassism into the limelight (literally) when he got to open for Skream and Joe Nice at the legendary Avalon Club (the old Limelight) in Manhattan. Other highlights include playing atop Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas at the Foundation Room for Dub Church, Narnia in the Los Angeles Mountains, Outlook Festival in Croatia, A Bass Odyssey in Berlin, and massive raves such as Nocturnal Wonderland, House of Dreams and Opium. ‘It doesn’t stop there’.
Catch Tommy Lexxus host Bassism Radio on Sub FM, where bass matters on Wednesday evenings. Summer festival dates coming soon! Keep it locked ;)
