Biografía
In the 80s I was deeply rooted in the breakdance scene. The music style at the time was predetermined - hip-hop, breakbeats and electro. My first steps were similarly adventurous. On grandma's compact system with record player and cassette deck, the buttons and controls were tortured until they fell out of place. Just to feed the boombox with the latest shit from London and the States, which people then danced to in the streets. After the hype of the 80s, I took a break. My design job became more and more important and mixing music took a back seat.
In 2015 I designed the logo for the ZKM event "Cloud Clubbing" as part of the 300th anniversary of Karlsruhe. At this event I stood at the mixing desk for the first time, together with 30 other DJs - 30 hours, 30 DJs. Since then, I've been obsessed with finding new and special sounds that are far from the mainstream. Not a day goes by that I don't listen to or make music. With the start of the regular "Gold Rush" charity events, public appearances became regular again. I became a resident at the Monk Bar in Karlsruhe, but also play regularly at ubu, the Bianco Bar or at other events such as the After Art Party or in summer 2019 at "Das Fest in Karlsruhe" on the Woodstock DJ stage.
In 2023, together with our music & culture collective “Good Earth Vibes”, I created the first “Good Earth Festival”, which takes place in a smaller, family setting in summer and winter.
My sound is deep, spacey and moves between techno, indie and sometimes afro. He likes to combine this style with lively rhythms and elements of analog, secular or spiritual sounds.
Kind regards
Toby
