Tina Edwards
Biografía
One of the most curious and respected selectors in the U.K., Tina Edwards joins the dots between Jazz and club culture.
At home on Worldwide FM - where she’s been a resident for five years - Tina brings together a broad range of sounds; think contemporary and uncovered gems; large-scale jazz, funk, disco, a spectrum of house music and even left-field pop; nothing is off the table. The spirit of the UK Jazz sound - which Tina has been championing through her radio and presenting projects since 2014 - is at the epicentre of everything she does.
With support from Jamz Supanova, Gilles Peterson, Murder He Wrote and Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy, Tina Edwards has shared line-ups with Poly-Ritmo, Tash LC and DJ Amir. She made her Boiler Room debut in the first lockdown, and is a member of admired communities including Total Refreshment Centre, Worldwide FM and many more within London’s thriving creative scene.
Tina knows how to win over a room’s trust, to introduce them to something fresh - whether it’s an unexpected change of mood or a hop from a classic to obscurity. That’s why her sets can be heard in a variety of spots, from JazzFM to Music Is My Sanctuary and Radio alHara. You’ll also find her hosting radio shows for BBC Radio 3 (Jazz Fix) and hosting/producing her series Next Big Thing for British Airways. Bubbly, animated and spontaneous in her club sets, Tina is a refreshing force to both the UK’s Jazz and club culture scenes.
