Born and partially raised in the Netherlands Ivo Schwengle, going by the handle; Tiki Masawa, was heavily influenced by early house such as Engima, Enya, Adamski Killer, Deep Forest, The Prodigy and many more artists of that era. When he was ten years old his mother decided they should move to the tropical island of Aruba. Having initial problems with his new surroundings he quickly adapted to the new culture, language and way of life. Being influenced by the laid back vibes and the tropical music he started singing and performing in bands, picking up different instruments as he went along. Because of its location, Aruba is a hub for people from different cultures that come and go leaving their imprints on the island they visited. Returning to the Netherlands to pursue an education he slowy ventured into the world of EDM. At first as a spectator, only to feel he would be able to participate and create. Feeling that every musical style creates a certain mood per genre, he found techno to contain many different emotions and moods at once. He decided to pick up a deck and further his musical ambitions. By taking his time and only selecting tunes with a good hook and themed melodies he ensures that mediocre songs will not pass the review.
