Yossef Chahid-Diez, now based in London, began DJing in 2013 in northern Spain, starting with dark techno and electro before evolving into harder and faster genres. In 2018, he adopted the alias The Slaughter, focusing on industrial techno and hardcore. After numerous gigs in London, his debut as The Slaughter at Corsica Studios in October 2019 marked his entry into the techno and hardcore world. Then, he founded Distortion Recordings and started a podcast series, collaborating with collectives in Europe and the Americas, and soon enough will relaunch the label and start releasing music from quality established and upcoming artists. Having recently completed a degree in Sound Engineering and Music Production at the London College for Contemporary Music, The Slaughter continues to work his way into the music industry. His DJ sets, known for their otherworldly energy and immersive experience, have garnered significant attention. With a recent acclaimed EPs on Doomcore Initiative, Doomcore Records and multiple releases planned for 2025, The Slaughter is set to leave a mark on the techno and hardcore music scene. In recent months, he has released DJ sets on some of the most important platforms in the European scene , joined Toxic Sickness as a resident DJ and played in well-known events in the London hardcore/techno scene .
