I grew up in the wild West Midlands of the UK, surrounded by quality underground music, from the junglist vibes at Quest, to the quality techno offerings at House of God or the pirate emissions of Frontline and Skyline. I started doing a laptop based LivePA in Wolverhampton in the mid 90s, gradually collecting enough hardware to do a full hardware show, mixing elements of house, jungle, breakcore, breakbeat, tech, trip hop and dub. Since moving to Spain post millennium I've done shows in some of the biggest (Razmatazz) and smallest (Bunker) venues in and around Barcelona, incorporating the emergent underground sounds of the time, from future garage to dubstep, skweee to ukfunky. With more enthusiasm to play out more than is possible with a livePA rig, I started DJing again in 2009 and subsequently set up and co-ordinated the TERRA collective, hosting a huge variety of guests and styles at our residence. www.facebook.com/terrabcn From my perspective, underground dance music is culture, it is art, it is not a business nor a commodity.
