The Hound is Los Angeles-based musician John Constantine Lucido. His musical journey began with a strong foundation in opera and composition from a young age. After studying classical voice at LACHSA and Audio Engineering at the Musicians Institute, he moved to San Francisco. He formed the band Orchid and Hound with his then-ex-boyfriend. Together, they released three albums and performed headlining shows throughout SF, LA, showcased at SXSW, and had an opening spot for Julia Marcell's show at Lido, Berlin, earning acclaim as "brilliant onstage" by SF WEEKLY and "favorite queer pop" by LOGO. During this period, he was also a manager at One Little Independent, an international record label home to artists like Björk and Cody Chesnutt. After the band parted ways, The Hound launched his first solo single, "Can't Let You Go," which garnered praise from the Huffington Post, Billboard, and Out Magazine, calling The Hound "one to know." In 2023, The Hound returned to the music scene, wielding a DJ controller. By skillfully blending house, disco, pop, and R&B and incorporating his unique spin on legendary tracks with original remixes, The Hound swiftly ascended to prominence, becoming a sought-after DJ in the vibrant Los Angeles music scene.
