The Doobskins
Biografía
Born out of a foggy winter session in Sheffield and a shared love for deep grooves and daft ideas, The Doobskins is a project of Sheffield based record collectors and DJs Oscar Kelly and Sam Bell — two friends bound by a love of grooves, deep basslines, and not taking the scene too seriously. Sparked by one hazy winter party and kept alive by countless sketch ideas and digging sessions, The Doobskins is part dancefloor, part daydream.
Drawing from the classic sounds of New York, Philly, and Chicago, their sets lean into dubby warmth, loose-limbed funk, and smoked-out house jams with the occasional oddball surprise. Reggae energy runs in the background, but the focus is always on feel-good dance music with soul at the centre.
Expect deep selections, cheeky transitions, and a mood that never takes itself too seriously. Whether it’s a late-night session or an early morning shuffle, Doobskins is all about the sweet spot where groove, humour and heart meet.
Whether warming up a dancefloor or spinning into the sunrise, the vibe’s always the same: soulful, vinyl-fed and full of life. Think smoky basements, dusty hi-hats, and grins behind the decks. The Doobskins are here for the love of the wax — and the people who move to it.
