Went to Pikes yesterday and had a very good time.. food was ok and generally it was a nice friendly vibe.. obviously it’s overpriced and and achingly trendy but nevertheless it was a pleasant afternoon afternoon with decent service and our server at the table couldn’t have tried harder to make sure we had a good time… we moved from our table just after the allotted 2 hours and ended up sitting close to the DJ at the poolside bar… the DJ was playing what can only be described as a funeral dirge and clearly wasn’t willing or able to read the room and I made the terrible mistake of asking him to liven things up a bit!.. from nowhere the DJs apprentice appeared and told our group of 4 fifty something’s that we had to leave immediately as criticism of the DJ would not be tolerated under any circumstances.. things escalated rapidly and we were approached by security and escorted from the building.., all in all a most unedifying end to an otherwise pleasant experience… I guess the moral of this ugly experience is don’t under any circumstances ask the DJ to change his tune…. Shame that the experience was trashed by the DJs apprentice but I guess it will happen again…." - Unknown Pikes Customer
